text One of the major pains with software on a pda is that when you forget or can't re-charge the battery in time - all installed software in memory is gone. Navgps has to be re-installed, re-registered and also re-select all the preferences. This is a major inconvenience!

Navgps Pro version 3.12 has the final solution. With this version, Navgps stores all preference/registration data in a separate file named navgps.ini in the same folder as navgps.exe.

So when Navgps is installed on an external memory-card (e.g. SD or CF), this file will also be saved automatically onto that card. Now, even if the battery dies and all main memory is lost, after re-charging the battery - you'll be able to continue with Navgps where you left off last.

Using File-Explorer, start Navgps (usually in "Storage Card\Snowlion Navgps" folder) and it'll automatically create a short-cut to itself in the Programs folder. No need to re-enter registration key or re-select the preferences.

Note: One small side-effect of installing software on external memory is that map reloading will slow down a little bit because external memory is slower than main memory.

How to install on external memory? Download the full installation module and when the installer asks whether to install in default location - select NO and then the card you want to install to.
